Solid expansion of product range
The Rollon Group can look back on above-average growth over the past years. In addition to constant, organic growth, well-chosen acquisitions have consistently boosted turnover and expanded the portfolio to establish the group as a full-range supplier. And the year 2015 is no exception.
Just prior to Motek the Rollon Group acquired all proprietary interest in Hegra Linear GmbH Co KG of Limburg/Lahn. The Hegra location in Limburg will not only be retained in its entirety, but also expanded. “We need the employees, the expertise and the production capacities of Hegra,” explains Rüdiger Knevels, Managing Director of Rollon. “Our acquisitions are always carried out with a view toward expanding our product range, as well as potential synergies,” says Knevels.
In this case, both of these aspects fit together perfectly: Hegra benefits from the Rollon Group’s worldwide sales network and contributes its enormous product spectrum. The company achieves about 70 % of its sales with custom products. This share is unique on the market for linear technology. Hegra’s flexible machine park is also an excellent addition to the production capacities. For example, any type of guide rail profile can be milled from solid material.
Hegra Linear has earned a reputation as a leading manufacturer of linear guide systems and telescoping rails for industrial applications in automotive, machine and aircraft construction. The company’s reliable and robust linear components are also used in many other applications.
Altogether Hegra Linear manufactures 84 linear guide rails in different forms and sizes. The heavy load rail systems with full and partial extension, for example, are available with a width from 26 to 74 mm and a height of 30 mm 240 mm. In all, there are twelve size graduations. This extensive assortment alone makes it possible to carry and move loads between 0.6 and 17.5 kN per rail pair, depending on the model and length.
